Would you like to take a drive or a motorbike ride through the flower fields and discover the diversity of the Bollenstreek? Then why not try the Bollenstreek car route? The car route is 60 kilometres long and takes about 2 hours. You’ll pass Keukenhof Flower Park, the flower fields and the seaside resorts of Katwijk and Noordwijk.
The drive through the flower fields
The Bollenstreek features in many global top 10 lists of regions you must visit at least once in your lifetime. The bulb fields, in particular, are popular with visitors from both home and abroad. Every spring, the bulb fields burst into colour and the Keukenhof flower park is in full bloom, whilst on summer days you can relax on the long, wide sandy beach and in the unique dune area.
Directions + GPX
The ANWB has put together a lovely driving route to help you discover all the beautiful spots in the Bollenstreek on a pleasant drive. The route takes you past a variety of typical Dutch landscapes in the Bollenstreek. As well as the bulb fields, you’ll pass beaches, dunes and large lakes. This route really brings home just how diverse the Bollenstreek is. You’ll pass the coastal towns of Katwijk and Noordwijk aan Zee and, of course, the flower villages of Hillegom, Lisse and Teylingen.
Starting point of the car route
You can, of course, start the car route at any point along the route. The ANWB recommends starting in Oegstgeest, at Rijnzichtweg 92 (GPS N52.17902 E4.45419).
Stopovers
If you drive along the scenic route through the bulb fields in spring, this drive can be perfectly combined with a visit to the world-famous Keukenhof flower park. Keukenhof is open in 2026 from 19 March to Sunday 10 May. The flower park has very generous opening hours, opening as early as 8.00 am and closing as late as 7.00 pm. You can park your car in the Keukenhof car park for just € 12.00.
