A family business since 1992
Strandpaviljoen J. van Roon was founded in 1992 by Jaap and Coby van Roon — the “J” in the name stands for Jaap. Today, the third generation is on the beach: son-in-law John (beach attendant since 2001) and daughter Anneke run the pavilion together, and their children Luuk and Femke are also growing up between the sun, sea and sand.
Food and drinks
At Van Roon you can enjoy yourself all day long, from breakfast to lunch and a relaxed drink. The chefs work with fresh local products from the Bollenstreek: bread from the baker, meat from butcher Krijn van der Bent, fish from Schuitemaker and cheese from the local cheesemaker. Following a vegetarian or gluten-free diet? You’re in the right place at Van Roon too — just let them know about any allergies when ordering.

The relaxed, family atmosphere at Van Roon makes the pavilion suitable for all kinds of occasions: from weddings to anniversaries, and from team outings to meetings. Opening hours and reservations
Strandpaviljoen J. van Roon is a seasonal beach pavilion: it is built up in March and taken down again at the end of September. During the season, Van Roon is open every day, from 9:30am on weekdays and from 9:00am at weekends — there’s no fixed closing time, as this is announced daily. You can reserve a table at the door, or call +31 71 361 33 05 for a specific day and time.
Dogs are welcome on the terrace (on a leash), but are not allowed inside the pavilion. Please note: dogs are not allowed on Noordwijk beach between 1 June and 1 September.
