Beach pavilion De Zeespiegel is located at the Duindamseslag (exit 24), on the northern side of Noordwijk, between quiet walking and cycling areas in the dunes. A lovely spot to relax and enjoy nature and the view of the beach and sea.
Pavilion De Zeespiegel has a characterful look, with a terrace full of colourful wooden benches and tables and a beautiful view of the beach and sea. Dogs are very welcome too, on a leash on the terrace and inside. The menu offers a lovely cup of coffee with apple pie, lunch, drinks and dinner — at the counter you can also take something to the beach with you.
Renting a beach bed at De Zeespiegel
At De Zeespiegel you can rent a beach bed, windscreen and parasol at the pavilion’s counter. The beach bed season runs from 1 April to 30 September. You can book or cancel up to 09.00 on the same day; once booked, the beach beds are held for you until 13.00.
Set price for a windscreen, 2 sun loungers and a parasol: €30.00 for a full day (+ €3.00 online booking fee), or €33.00 in total at the counter. Loose rental: beach bed €10.00, parasol €5.00. To be guaranteed 2 beach beds, a windscreen and a parasol for the whole season costs €450.00.
Surroundings
The beach pavilion lies as an oasis of calm on the beach. Through the dune area of the Duindamseslag runs the “Art in the Dune Path” walking route by Staatsbosbeheer, which leads past various artworks and right by Beach Pavilion De Zeespiegel — also great fun to walk with children. Along the way you can regularly spot deer.
Near the Duindamseslag, the First Aid for Sea Mammals organisation (EHBZ Noordwijk) is also active. Sea mammals such as seals and harbour porpoises regularly wash ashore here; they are collected by the EHBZ and, if still alive, transferred to Lenie ‘t Hart’s seal sanctuary in Pieterburen.
