Beach pavilion De Zeemeeuw in Noordwijk is located right on the beach, directly in front of the Noordwijk lighthouse. You can come here 365 days a year from 9:00 am for a cup of coffee; the kitchen is open from 10:00 am for breakfast, lunch, high tea, high wine, high beer, drinks or dinner. De Zeemeeuw is open daily until midnight at the latest.
The cosy interior with tables made of driftwood and teak, leather sofas, rattan chairs, a large open kitchen, blazing fireplaces and nautical antiques gives De Zeemeeuw the feel of a genuine beach club. The restaurant is excellently suited for large groups, but thanks to its cosy layout it’s also a great spot for a smaller party.
Beach Club with Kids
Beach pavilion De Zeemeeuw has a renovated playground with a large pirate ship to climb and a slide. Combine a visit to the playground with a snack and a drink from the summer menu, specially designed for the little ones.
Facilities on the Beach
Next to the pavilion you’ll find outdoor toilets (south side of the restaurant) and, during high season, a beach shower from the municipality of Noordwijk (north side). De Zeemeeuw also offers a free beach wheelchair and swim wheelchair — booking in advance is recommended via info@zeemeeuw.com (weekdays) or reserveren@zeemeeuw.com (weekends). For families who want to help keep the beach clean, free litter-picking bags from the Grondstofjutters are available: handing in a full bag earns a nice treat.
Renting Sun Loungers
At De Zeemeeuw you can also rent windbreaks, sun loungers and parasols. The staff sets everything up for you and clears it away again at the end of the day. Advance booking is not possible; it works on a walk-in basis.

Dogs on the Beach
From 1 September to 31 May, you can walk your dog across the entire Noordwijk beach, and your dog is also welcome on De Zeemeeuw’s terrace (not allowed inside the pavilion; clean-up rules apply). From 1 June to 31 August, dogs are not allowed on the beach, the beach access paths or the boulevards of Noordwijk.
Reservations
You can reserve a table via De Zeemeeuw’s website, for breakfast (from 10:00 am, or from 9:00 am on Sundays with the breakfast buffet), lunch (from 11:00 am) or dinner (from 4:30 pm). For just a drink or a snack, advance reservations aren’t possible — on arrival, staff will check if a table is available.
