The authentic tulip farm De Tulperij in Voorhout is highly recommended for young and old alike. In spring, De Tulperij is the place to admire the spring flowers in the flower fields and in summer, De Tulperij is all about the unique Dahlia summer flowers. The Tulperij organises tours of the tulip farm and there is a beautiful show garden and picking garden every season.
Tulips, Dahlias and delicious coffee
The tulip farm De Tulperij is located in the heart of the Bollenstreek, just 10 minutes by bike from Keukenhof and close to the Dutch coast. Every spring, tours are given at this flower bulb farm to visitors from all over the world. Standing among the blooming tulips is an unforgettable experience for many and an obligatory photo opportunity during a visit to Holland in spring. Highly recommended is the cosy flower greenhouse at De Tulperij where you can enjoy a delicious cup of coffee with treacle waffle. There is a lovely terrace overlooking the flower fields. The flower greenhouse is free to visit. In summer, De Tulperij is dedicated to the versatile dahlia flowers.
Experience the story of flowers
Want to learn all about flowers? Then visit De Tulperij. Then go into the fields with Daan, the tulip grower. During the tour, he will tell you about the company and the tulip bulbs. There is ample opportunity to take photos among the blooming tulips, daffodils or hyacinths. A film about bulb cultivation is shown in the flower greenhouse. In summer, enjoy the CNB dahlia show garden and a beautiful dahlia picking garden.
Entrance fees at De Tulperij
De Tulperij’s flower greenhouse and show garden are free to visit. If you really want to experience The Tulpery, book a guided tour by the bulb grower and learn all about growing tulip bulbs. Of course, you will then also visit the ‘real’ tulip fields of The Tulperij.

De Tulperij is open in spring during the tulip season and in summer/autumn during the Dahlia Festival. Below are the opening days and times for 2024.
Tulip season
The tulip season in 20243 is from Thursday 21 March to Sunday 12 May. During this season, the Tulpery will be open every day. Opening hours in spring are as follows:
- Monday: 9:00 – 18:00
- Tuesday: 9:00 – 18:00
- Wednesday: 9:00 – 18:00
- Thursday: 9:00 – 18:00
- Friday: 9:00 – 18:00
- Saturday: 9:00 – 18:00
- Sunday: 9:00 – 18:00

Summer flower season
The Dahlia season in 2024 is from Saturday 10 August to Saturday 12 October. Summer opening hours are as follows:

- Friday: 9:30 – 17:00

Flower bulbs from De Tulperij
Do you also want blooming spring flowers in your garden or on your balcony every spring? Then buy your flower bulbs at ‘De Tulperij’. You can order flower bulbs during the spring opening. These flower bulbs will then be sent to your address (including abroad) in the autumn.
Every summer, De Tulperij also has opening days for a delicious coffee on the terrace overlooking the summer flower show garden and selling flower bulbs. In 2024, the Tulpery will be open from 10 August to Saturday 12 October.
How to reach De Tulperij
By car
You can navigate to the address Oude Herenweg 16B in Voorhout. Parking is available on site and parking is free. Please note that there are a limited number of parking spaces available.
By bicycle or on foot
The Tulperij is located between cycle junction 55 and 58. A great opportunity to take a break at The Tulperij and enjoy the silence and the beautiful view of the flower fields. The Tulperij is also located on popular cycling routes:
- Purple Keukenhof cycling route of 10 kilometres
- Tulip route, a 15-kilometre cycling route
- Bollenstreek Flower Route, a 35-kilometre cycling route along the beach, the dunes and the most beautiful flowers.
By public transport
De Tulperij can be reached by bus line 50, getting off at the Beekbrug stop in Lisse. It is then a 10-minute walk to the flower bulb nursery. For the most up-to-date public transport travel information, go to 9292.nl. During Keukenhof season you can also take one of the Keukenhof buses from RAI Amsterdam, Schiphol Airport, Haarlem and Leiden and rent a bike at Keukenhof to visit De Tulperij.
