Van der Valk Bird Park Avifauna in Alphen aan de Rijn is a unique bird park very centrally located in Holland. In addition to spectacular bird shows and special birds, the park also has other (small) animals and a great playground for young and old.
What is Avifauna bird park
Avifauna is an ideal outing with the family or the whole family. There is something to experience for young and old. It is popular to feed the Lori birds yourself and to watch the penguins and pelicans. Of course you will find many different birds in the bird park, such as the graceful flamingos.
You should not miss the spectacular bird shows. The birds fly close by here and eat and hunt as they are used to in nature.
Animal park
In Avifauna you can not only enjoy birds. There is also an Oriental garden with red pandas and a half-monkey residence where you can walk between the ring-tailed lemurs and the red vari. The little dwarf monkeys are also fun. Very informative are the feeding stories of the half monkeys and the pygmy monkeys.
Bird show Avifauna
During the bird shows at Avifauna you will see countless birds in action! Here the birds fly close by and you can see them eating and hunting as they are used to in nature. You can see how the macaws circle above the large pond, how large raptors dive to catch their prey and how African spoonbills use their special beak to look for food. This while the caretaker tells you the best facts about the birds.
Playground Avifauna
Will you climb the steps of the slide tower to slide faster and faster? Do you enjoy roaming the desert area, jumping on the mega trampoline or do you prefer thrilling adventures on the jungle island? From 1 April, two brand new go-kart tracks will allow the little ones to race on a very natural circuit. The choice is yours!
Since Avifauna opened, the playground has always been a major attraction. Over the years, a lot has changed and renewed, so there is always something new to discover. This makes the playground a wonderful place for young and old alike.

Avifauna is open daily from 9am to 6pm. During the day there are various activities to experience. On the day of your visit you will receive a flyer with the current day program at the checkout.

Parking Avifauna
Vogelpark Avifauna is centrally located about a 30-minute drive from Amsterdam, The Hague, Utrecht and Rotterdam. The bird park has a large parking lot in front of the entrance where you can park your car for just € 5.00 a day.
